Avoiding systemic problems in Court based Domestic Disputes

The collaborative process is clearly superior to the adversarial one. I feel it is also superior to traditional mediation since it involves using and learning problem solving techniques and communication skills that empower the parents to make their own decisions. It also creates a framework for future problem solving. If we, as judges, are to be agents of change for the betterment of society we should explore this and other alternatives.
